Really happy to be starting a new project: a Creative Fellowship at the University of Exeter, part of the Arts and Culture programme. My fellowship is with the AMR network – Anti Microbial Resistance network. Yes, I know, a bit of a mouthful and I’m starting to get my head around the subject. It seems to contain a double negative: ‘anti’ microbial, so ‘against’ all the miniature bacteria, viruses and fungi in the world; and resistance, in this case that’s another negative since it is referring to all those microbes that have found a way of resisting antibiotic drugs. Well, just as in a sentence, a double negative can be used to hide a positive ( “not unreasonably”) so it is the positive I’m seeking here. [Thanks Sarah, Kelly, Stephen and Demelza for making my first ever Zoom interview a +ve experience! Image from AMR website]
